President's Message
President's Message
We are living through a difficult time for our community and our economy. The crisis around the COVID-19 pandemic has left no one untouched. Not only is the virus claiming human lives, it is subjecting us to extraordinary stress rarely seen in peace time.
Ismailis have been in the United States for more than six decades, and our diversified community strength has enabled us to support ourselves through many global crises. Today is no different.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to say that Community Focus Foundation-PCC is devoted to the well-being, safety, and healthy lifestyle of our members. While it is too early to estimate the impact of the current crisis, at this point we assess it as being absolutely manageable.
I am pleased to update our all stakeholders about the current state of PCC, as we have re-opened the center from June 16, 2020 for limited members and activities.
- We have equipped the Fitness Workout Gym with more professional treadmills and bikes.
-  We have built capacity to engage the community virtually, through website and other social media channels.
- We have launched Summer 2020 Basketball Camp for 1st to 9th graders in association with Alodia Sports Academy, a mainstream professional coaching academy.
- We have launched Summer 2020 CFF-Cricket League (Hard Ball)
- We plan to re-open PCC-Kitchen with a new Food Pickup and Delivery Program beginning in summer 2020.
We are confident that we will make a positive contribution in this crisis. I would also like to acknowledge the efforts our entire boar and volunteers who made New Year’s Eve 2020 a success. Further, I’d like to express my profound gratitude to the entire team for their untiring efforts in making Basketball Bonanza 2019-20 a success.
In the first quarter of 2020, our Board of Directors and Advising Board completed a visioning process which resulted in the creation of a master plan for the construction of PCC-Phase-II. We also approved a capital campaign that will run from September to November 2020, which will meet the gap between pledges and budget of Phase-II. Community Focus Foundation leadership will liaison with our generous donors, and we will share these exciting plans with the community in September 2020.
The PCC is needed more than ever for our community’s overall well-being. I would like to thank our generous donors, sponsors, volunteers, and professional team for their time, knowledge, and capital strength. Because of them, our young institution will b resilient in these uncertain times.
Community Focus Foundation – PCCÂ will continue to build an even better tomorrow as a strong community partner you can rely on.
Sincerely,
Rahim Maknojia
